OOC:
Name: Ogre
Age: 27
Basics:
Name: James Logan Howlett
Nick name: Wolverine
Age: Around 120-150 years old.
Race: Mutant
Powers: Logan's powers consist of several different abilities. The first and most obvious of these are his claws, three foot long blades that shoot out between the knuckles of each hand. These are actually made of bone and are a natural part of his body. However, they are coated with the unbreakable alloy adamantium, just as the rest of his skeleton is. This makes his bones effectively unbreakable, and gives his claws an edge that's sharp enough to cut almost anything if he can get the proper leverage going.
The next major aspect of Wolverine's powers is his Healing Factor. Logan recovers from injuries at a shocking rate, you can watch bullet holes close up and bruises vanish. His claws actually cut their way out of his skin, and yet never cause more than a drop or two of bleeding, thanks to this prodigious healing rate. It also has the advantage that Logan can go for extremely long periods of time without food or rest, making him superhumanly durable. He's also more or less immune to frasilties such as aging or disease. In all the time he can remember, he has never been sick, and doesn't seem to have aged a day.
In general, Wolverine's body is extremely enhanced. He's superhumanly strong and tough, able to lift several men at once, even if they're larger than him by quite a way. Even without his healing factor he could still take a beating and keep on going. But the most extreme part of his enhancements are his senses. His sight and hearing are quite keen, significantly beyond normal human levels. His sense of smell is where he really shines though. Logan can track like a bloodhound, sniff out small pherhormone traces, and if necessary, find an invisible opponent by smell. It takes a lot to throw Logan's nose off the track.
The Weapon X program did more to Logan than coat his bones with metal. They also put him through an extreme regimen of conditioning and neurosurgery. The primary aim was to make him controllable, but a sideeffect of it is that telepaths find Wolverine almost impossible to read. His resistance to mental probes is extreme enough that even powerful telepaths like Professor Xavier find themselves struggling to read his thoughts, let alone plumb his memories.

Sexuality: Straight
In-depth:
Appearance: One thing Logan hears a lot is 'huh, I thought you were taller'. He isn't exactly enormous, standing at 5'3“. He's broad shouldered and extremely muscular though, so nobody could call him slight. Rugged would probably be a better word for him, given that he looks more than a little weatherbeaten. And has a tendency to dress in outdoorsy clothes. Throw in the muttonchops and general tendency to hairyness, and you have a man who looks like he'd be more comfortable halfway up some frozen mountain trail than in civilisation. Which is probably not exactly wrong.
Weakness: Despite his healing factor and toughn ess, Wolverine is not unvulnerable. It is possible to overwhelm his regeneration with a sustained enough attack, incapacitating until his body recovers.
What is more of a weakness though is Logan's fits of berserker rage. If pressed too hard physically, emotionally or mentally, Logan loses control of the bestial side of himself. While this cane make him even more fearsome in a fight, he loses any memory of who he is, including the ability to differentiate friend from foe. Depending on what caused him to lose control, it take up to several weeks for him to recover.
Having enhanced senses makes Logan sensitive to extreme stimulus. Loud noises or bright lights are unpleasant to him, and he can suffer from sensory overload more severely than normal people.
Other Abilities: Logan speaks several languages, including French, Russian and Japanese fluently.
As a former Special Ops soldier, Logan has extensive experience in infiltration techniques. He rarely makes a sound he doesn't want to, and knows how to circumvent security systems and suchlike. Though he tends to prefer a more direct approach.
Logan is an extremely skilled fighter. He can handle just about any melee or ranged weapon, though when he does use a weapon other than his claws he tends to prefer blades. He's also a master of several martial arts forms.
Family: Logan has vague memories of a Native Amercian woman named Silver Fox that he once loved, who is however dead.
During his stay in Japan, Logan was married to Mariko Yashida, but is since divorced.
While in Japan he also more or less adopted a girl called Amiko, whom he sends money when he can.
Other than that he may have other relatives, but he can't remember them.
Affiliation: X-Men
History:
Background: Wolverine is one of the oldest mutants alive, though he isn't really aware of that. His memories are fragmented and buried under layers of trauma and deliberate conditioning. He has no memories that go back more than thirty years, and even those are extremely vague.
His first cohesive memories involve his escape from the Weapon X program, a secret government project to create mutant super weapons. It was Weapon X that gave him his adamantium claws, and it was Weapon X that scrambled his memories almost beyond repair. Sometimes Logan can't even properly remember what they did to him, only that he needs to make them pay.
After escaping from his captors, Logan wandered the world for several years. He's had several run ins with old enemies, both from his days with Weapon X and from before. Most notable of these was Sabretooth, a mutant with extremely similar powers to Logan's, and a killer grudge that Logan now heartily reciprocates. Their fight won't end until one of them is dead.
But Logan also had more positive experiences. He journeyed to Japan, seeking to escape the past waiting in America. There he learned the ways of Bushido, the ancient samurai traditions, as a way to counter his more bestial urges. The things he learned in Japan gave him the discipline and the focus he needed to rise above the snarling brawler he'd been before. While there he also met Mariko Yashida, another love in his life. Their happy ending was prevented first by japanese custom, and then by an assassin poisoning Mariko. Logan also rescued a young girl by the name of Amiko, and adopted her as his foster daughter. In some ways, she is the only real family he has.
In others though, Logan has quite an extensive family. At least since he joined the X-Men upon his return to America. The mutant team helped Logan to uncover his past, and has provided a sense of camaraderie and belonging missing from his life up to that point. Though Logan doesn't manage to contain his wanderlust for long and goes missing for extended periods, the X-Men provide a home he feels he can return to any time. The gruff man is a loner by nature, but the people of the Xavier Institute have earned his fierce loyalty.
Sample RP: “Hit me Chuck.” Logan growled as he stalked into the Danger Room. The Professor hit a few buttons in the command centre, and with a whirr several robots appeared in the center of the grey expanse. Logan didn't even pause his stride, the only way he acknowledged the 8 foot threats turning to face him was to raise an eyebrow. “This all you got? This ain' more'n a warm up.”
And it really was little more than that. Snarling, Logan dived between the first two robots, easily evading their outstretched arms. The two behind that didn't even get the chance for a strike before Logan neatly chopped them in half with the claws sliding out of his wrists. Before the two he'd evaded could turn, Logan whirled and drove his claws into their backs.
As the bots crumpled to the ground, Logan raised his eyes to the command room. Cyke looked pissed off, and Jean was trying to hide that she was impressed. Cockily, Logan shot the redhead a flirtatious smile, just to deepen Cyke's frown. “Come on bub, let's see what's next.”
